  • Description

Azienda Agricola Quercecchio, a historic winery of Brunello di Montalcino, stands out for its enchanting panoramic location and the quality of its products. Located in the municipality of Montalcino, in the province of Siena, in a region of Tuscany famous for its artistic and scenic heritage and for the prestigious Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and Rosso di Montalcino DOC wines, the estate covers 150 hectares of woods, pastures, arable land, olive groves, and vineyards. Quercecchio has a long history: from the late 14th century to the 17th century, the property was a grancia, a convent farm belonging to the Monastery of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, as documented in the Chronicon Cancellariae, a collection of the Olivetan Order’s historical events. Today, the estate has been in the hands of the Salvioni Family for five generations. The current owner, Maria Grazia Salvioni, has further strengthened the viticultural vocation of the estate, personally overseeing its management. In the vineyards, mainly cultivated with Sangiovese, the renowned Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Rosso di Montalcino DOC, and IGT Rosso Toscano are produced. From the pomace of the grapes, a refined Brunello grappa is also obtained, appreciated for its smoothness and fresh, fruity bouquet.
