  • Description

Hardworking, decisive, and authoritative, Silvano Piacentini is an iconic figure in Italian winemaking. The first professional sommelier in Verona and a pioneer of the early Winetaly events, he is considered by many a true enological bible. His extraordinary sensory sensitivity often allows him to recognize a wine simply by inhaling its aromas, without even tasting it. For him, wine has always been a “nectar,” an affectionate and reverent term reflecting his deep respect for this ancient art. His journey in the world of wine began in 1961, just over twenty years old, but already with a clear vision: quality, authenticity, and terroir would be the cornerstones of his career. After decades of experience in the selection, importation, distribution, and production of high-level wines and spirits, in 2015 Silvano took a natural step: creating a line of wines bearing his name, directly expressing his vision and his connection to the land of Verona. Thus was born “Silvano Piacentini” wines, a collection rooted in the finest vineyards of the province of Verona. The range includes the great classics of Valpolicella—Amarone, Amarone Riserva, Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso, Valpolicella Classico—along with other territorial excellences such as Soave Classico, Recioto della Valpolicella, Recioto di Soave, and the more recent but already highly appreciated Lugana, innovative and intriguing. Silvano Piacentini represents a hallmark of passion, experience, and an insatiable pursuit of excellence. A life dedicated to wine, transformed into a liquid legacy that conveys, glass by glass, the soul of his land.
